Scripture: “For from His fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.”
— John 1:16 (ESV)
Before beginning this 21-day journey, it’s important to pause and understand what grace truly means.
For many believers, grace has long been defined as “unmerited favor” — God’s free gift of love and forgiveness that we could never earn or deserve. And that’s absolutely true.
Grace is the unearned kindness of God that reaches out to us when we could never reach Him on our own.
But grace is also so much more. Grace isn’t just pardon — it’s power. It’s not only what saves you; it’s what sustains and strengthens you every day of your life.
Grace is the divine power and presence of God working in and through you to accomplish what you could never do by yourself. It’s the supernatural energy of Heaven empowering you to live, love, and lead like Jesus.
Paul understood this when he said:
“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” — 1 Corinthians 15:10 (NKJV)
Grace isn’t passive. It’s alive. It doesn’t just forgive your past; it transforms your present and equips your future.
It doesn’t just clean the slate…it writes a brand-new story.
Grace saves you (Ephesians 2:8),
teaches you (Titus 2:11–12),
strengthens you (2 Timothy 2:1),
and empowers you (1 Corinthians 15:10).
Grace is the flow of God’s love that moves through every part of your life. It’s there when you fall short and there when you rise up again. It meets you in your weakness and fills you with strength you didn’t know you had. It carries you when you can’t walk on your own and gives you the courage to take the next step.
Grace is both your covering and your catalyst. It saves you from what you were and shapes you into who you’re called to become.
As you go through this devotional, you’ll begin to experience grace as more than a concept. You’ll encounter it as the living presence of Jesus Christ, who is full of grace and truth (John 1:14).
You’ll come to see that grace is:
When you grasp this truth, you’ll stop striving to earn what’s already yours and start living from the abundance of what Christ has already done. You’ll move from guilt-driven religion into grace-filled relationship.
So take a deep breath.
You don’t have to prove anything.
You don’t have to perform your way into God’s love.
You simply get to receive and let grace do what only grace can do.
Let’s get started.
